With the exclusive arbitration-eligible offers ending at the 9 p.m. deadline tonight, the San Francisco Giants have had a quiet offseason thus far. Although they have only re-signed bullpen lefty Jeremy Affeldt to a new three-year deal, the Giants have been involved in rumor whispers surrounding several players. Here is what to expect after tonight’s deadline:

• Fist of all, Brian Wilson will probably not be tendered a contract of at least $6.8 million to avoid arbitration. If the Giants and Wilson cannot come up with a fair offer deal on their own by tonights deadline, Wilson will become a free agent and will be able to sign wherever he wants (or whoever is wiling to pay for him). With rumors about him being interested in joining the Los Angeles Dodgers (he lives there in the offseason), it’ll be interesting where he ends up. After suffering another elbow injury in 2012, Wilson went through his second Tommy John surgery in his career. He pitched in two games last season and has a career 3.21 ERA with 171 saves in 320 innings pitched. He ranks third in the Giants organization in saves behind Rod Beck (199) and Robb Nen (206).
• Outside of Wilson, the Giants also haven’t offered exclusive contracts to Santiago Casilla, Angel Pagan or Marco Scutaro – three players the front office seems very interesting in re-signing. All three players played huge roles in the Giants run through the postseason.
• Sergio Romo is also without a contract as of now, but the Giants will for sure bring him back and hopefully tie him down for a multi-year deal. Romo has pitched well for the Giants for his entire career. Posting a career 2.20 ERA, 0.889 WHIP with a 20-9 record. He only gave up one run in 14 innings in the post-season in 2012 and recorded three saves in the four game sweep in the World Series (also not allowing a hit or a walk in those three innings).
• Gregor Blanco and Hunter Pence are also up for arbitration, Pence is due for a salary around $13.5 million and Blanco should be receiving a hefty raise after a surprising season after the departure of Melky Cabrera. Blanco had career highs in steals (26), runs (56), triples (five) and home runs (five). Oh, and he made a few important catches worth noting.
• Another rumor I’ve heard was the Giants interest in former New York Yankee and Oakland Athletic Nick Swisher. I know the Giants already have Pence, Blanco and (probably) Pagan, but the addition of Swisher would be an upgrade. I could see the Giants moving Blanco to the bench unless they decide to use Swisher at first base for a few games. Swisher hit 24 home runs with 93 RBI while hitting .272/.364/.473 with the Yankees last year, but disappeared in the eight games they played in the playoffs (5-30, two RBI, no home runs).
